About

Many Paths is an online training centre focusing on soft skills.

Who has created Many Paths?
Many Paths has been developed by Carol Battle, a Communications and Change Management professional, based on peer-reviewed studies and advice from professionals working in education, psychology and neuroscience. Carol is a mother of three children and was primarily motivated to set up this training centre after discovering her elder son was dyslexic.

Carol understands the need for persistence to achieve change. Professionally, he’s often reminded clients that people need to have been presented with a message approximately seven times for it to be received, understood and remembered. As a mother of a dyslexic child, she has learnt that in order to develop and retain skills, they need to practiced in an stress-free or eustress environments many, many times to have the confidence to apply them. Research on skills-fade tells us that we need to practice beyond competence and proficiency if the skill is to be embedded and retained for the long-term.

Why should I take a Many Paths course and not buy a self-help book or do a different online course?
Change isn’t easy and is almost always impossible without the necessary tools. Relying on will power enough will rarely provide the outcome you want in the long run. Change requires to right skills, along with the scarce commodities of time and persistence. Many Paths courses are designed with proven methods to build skills that will help you achieve change in yourself or others.

While books and videos are terrific for building knowledge and enthusiasm, you’ll be on your own for getting the work done. Many Paths brings together the knowledge and the training over time to give you the persistence you need to achieve sustainable change. The option of taking a group class gives you a small social network to assist with real-life practice and support.

Please feel free to contact us if you have further questions regarding the methodology or supporting research.

What’s the difference between a group and an individual programme?
Most programmes will be offered as either as an individual or group experience. While both courses have more-or-less the same content, the group experience provides the opportunity to bond with a peer group that are also seeking the same skill development.

All programmes are based on the latest research in the areas of neuroscience, psychology, education and change-management approaches. The group programmes provide more opportunity for learning.

Does online training really work?
Online training provides the ability to learn and rehearse like never before. Interactive elements, such as video, video conferencing make the experience fun. Use of audio, video, writing, reading and exercises assist with reinforcing messages for different learning styles. Furthermore, if you select to join a group environment, you’ll have options of group chats and small group experiences to provide peer support and extended learning opportunities.

Many Paths is designed to rebalance natural advantages some people have in developing soft skills. Physically, our hearing, brain structures and nervous systems can all make soft skills easier or more challenging. Socially and culturally, some people may never had the same opportunities to learn and practice.

How much time does a Many Paths programme take?
Some programmes are one month and others six weeks. Information and practical skill-building exercises are delivered over this period of time in order to understand, learn, practice, practice and practice. We believe that practice makes progress, and if all of the course content is consumed too quickly, it will not provide enough time to maximise retention and minimise skills fade, to deliver the change you seek.

What are the programme prerequisites?
For successful outcomes, participants need to approach the programmes with an open mind. If you are not open to the change that the Many Paths method will deliver, we’d advise you not start on the journey. Additionally, participants are advised to devote at least an hour a week over the six-week courses. This is broken down into bite-size practical activities to meet the demands of busy lives.

Are the programmes connected into social media?
The programmes are deliberately not connected to social media. Positive social pressure can assist in achieving change, but it can also hold some people back in trying new things. For this reason group courses are private. The messaging system within the programmes are contained for the group that you’ve joined.
